Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the iconic Kings Park Athletic Stadium in Durban. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or just looking for a fun family outing, this event has something for everyone with options for a 21.1km run, 10km run, or 5km fun walk.
Event Highlights
- Start and Finish: The half marathon kicks off outside Kings Park Athletic Stadium at the corner of Isaiah Ntshangase Road and NMR Avenue (or Masabalala Yengwa Avenue) in Durban CBD, winding through scenic routes before finishing inside the stadium.
- Medals and Goodies: Every finisher gets a shiny medal! Plus, the first 1,000 entries in the 21.1km and 10km races score a free T-shirt.
- Senior Perks: Runners aged 70+ get free entry with a medal (no T-shirt, though).
- Vitality Points: Boost your Discovery Vitality rewards – earn 800 points for the 5km, 1,100 for the 10km, and a whopping 2,000 for the 21.1km.
- Cutoff Time: For the 21.1km, you’ve got 3 hours and 30 minutes to cross the finish line.
This isn’t just a race; it’s a celebration of peace, community, and health, sponsored by Discovery Vitality and organized by Mayibuyi Athletic Club. Proceeds support the Mayibuyi Youth Organisation Charity – so every step you take helps build a brighter future.

Important Rules and Info
- Age Requirements: Minimum 9 years for 5km, 14 for 10km, 16 for 21.1km. Juniors are 19 and under as of December 31, 2026.
- Attire: Wear club colors with 2026 license numbers front and back. Temporary licenses on the back.
- Indemnity: By entering, you agree you’re fit to run and release organizers from liability.
- Obey all officials, referees, and marshals. Tog bag facilities available at your own risk.
